TEG Live proudly present Royal Wedding Gospel Choir, The Kingdom Choir, for their inaugural New Zealand tour in August 2019, with tickets to go on sale 12pm Friday 26 October through Ticketek.
The Kingdom Choir will play Auckland’s Vodafone Events Centre on Saturday 10 August 2019 and Christchurch Town Hall on Sunday 11 August 2019.
Following their show-stopping performance of 'Stand By Me’ at the Royal Wedding, in front of nearly 2 billion people, The Kingdom Choir have attracted worldwide acclaim and will perform at the Closing Ceremony of the Invictus Games Sydney on 27 October.
Their performance at the Closing Ceremony coincides with the worldwide release of their highly anticipated album on Friday 26 October through Sony.
The album includes ‘Stand By Me’ as well as a cross section of classic and contemporary vocal driven hits including ‘Halo’ (Beyoncé), ‘Fix You’ (Coldplay), ‘All Of Me’ (John Legend), as well as ‘Blinded By Your Grace Part 2’ (Stormzy).
The choir was founded in London 1994 by award-winning conductor Karen Gibson. The group of singers from in and around London draw from various Christian traditions and are dedicated to creating a sound that demonstrates the community they share through their warm energy and enthusiastic performance.
Karen Gibson said on the announcement of their New Zealand tour: “The Kingdom Choir are absolutely delighted with the journey of the past few months. We are extremely grateful and excited about the opportunity to share our music with our New fans.”
Geoff Jones, TEG CEO and Invictus Games Sydney Board Member said: “After capturing the adoration of the world at the Royal Wedding earlier this year, it’s only fitting that The Kingdom Choir perform at the Games founded by His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex. The Invictus Games Sydney has seen 500 competitors from 18 nations compete in 11 medal sports, and the Closing Ceremony at Qudos Bank Arena will roundout what has been a wonderful event.”
