As you’re aware, the earthquake-damaged stadium is due to be deconstructed and Christchurch City Council and Vbase would like you to send us photos or illustrations that capture your memories of the place as we say a final goodbye.

Whether it’s watching a cricket match from the embankment, cheering on the Crusaders (above) or enjoying a rock concert such as Bon Jovi in January 2008 (intro). there’s no doubt that the stadium holds a special place in many Cantabrians’ hearts. With the deconstruction set to take more than a year, this is a great opportunity for residents to share their experiences and memories with others.

All entries for the signage competition must be received by Friday 22 December. It is expected the signage will go up in mid-February 2018. Find out how to submit your images

The main deconstruction of Lancaster Park stadium is expected to begin by March 2018 and will take 12 to 14 months to complete.

We’re looking forward to sharing your memories of this special place with you.
