Duck into the Botanic Gardens
- 06 November 2015
Duck Duck is the new food spot at the restored Christchurch Botanic Gardens Tea Kiosk, now open for summer.
Run by Vbase as a sister outlet to ilex café in the nearby Visitor Centre, Duck Duck is located on the playground side of the Kiosk building.
Vbase General Manager Darren Burden says the new spot is a perfect place to grab an icecream or more substantial fare for a family picnic in the Gardens over summer.
“It is a funky little place to ‘duck in and duck out’ for a quick bite. We’ve had fun with the name and the look, making it colourful and appealing,” he says.
More than just icecreams and lollies, the takeaway menu features contemporary versions of old favourites, delivered in eco-friendly, duck-themed packaging.
Espresso coffee, fruit flow icecream, kids’ lunch packs, salads, fresh baking and sandwiches, cones of French fries, fruit and milk shakes are all on the affordably-priced menu.
Paddle, waddle, flap or duck down to Duck Duck for summer 2015/16 from 10am to 4pm weekdays, and 10am to 5pm at weekends, on the playground side of the Botanic Gardens Tea Kiosk.
